A Mela In Delhi
Every year for the first two weeks of February there’s a fair in Delhi called the Surajkund International Crafts Mela that we’ve been lucky enough to go to a few times. I think it’s one of the highlights of India, and a wonderful opportunity to see crafts, food, dance and entertainment from all over the country in one place. It seems to be a fair mainly for Indians as we have never seen many other tourists there. The last time we went we were ushered into the VIP seats ( under umbrellas) and given pistachio drinks and delicacies while we watched dancers and musicians from all the states perform. The dancers performed right in front of us and we took some video and stills. I can’t find all the photos at the moment but here are some.
A whirling dervish.
A fire eater.
