Driving South from Paris
Some of our most enjoyable holidays have been when we hire a car and just drive wherever the whim takes us! On this occasion we had a booking in Sarlat in the Dordogne so we headed south from Paris, going through Lyon where we walked around for a while then kept driving until we arrived at a pretty medieval town called Beaugency, situated on the Loire River. We found an old Abbey converted to a hotel and stayed there in the monk’s cells . It was full of atmosphere and only a few minutes from the legendary Heritage listed bridge, and the old town full of alley ways and 10th century buildings.

I love a French carousel.

What an eye you have for photography. We also love just driving around by ourselves. Love Denise x
It’s the best way I think Denise – we love deciding directions etc on the spur of the moment. x
