Sculpture In Park Avenue New York
June 27, 2013
When walking down Park Avenue recently I came across these sculptures.I found out that they are the brainchild of artist Alexandre Arrechea and were made by Josh Young of Serett Metal in Brooklyn. Alexandre explored the destabilization of traditional concepts held about icons and their function in society. These sculptures are meant to create a dialogue with the public, that raises questions of control, power, surveillance and one’s roll within these categories. Fascinating. This is what I LOVE about New York!

Thanks Denise – I just wish I’d seen the rest of these fabulous sculptures!
Mary, how interesting and i can see that they would be thought provoking in real life. So glad you captured these sculptures and hope they are there (permanently) so that i can enjoy them in September. X Mel
I think they are only there until June but I’m sure there’ll be something else equally good to see. X
Oh Mel, I think these are only up until the end of June but I’m sure there’ll be other fabulous things for you to see. X
